Student-led economic journalism
Our Story
How It All Started
The Dubai Youth Economics Review was founded in 2021 by a small group of students who believed economics should not only exist in textbooks. They created a digital publication where students apply economic ideas to real events, covering developments in the UAE, global markets, and international politics. What began as a small online newsletter grew into a full publication with a team of writers, editors, and designers who research, write, and edit every article themselves.
The publication analyses real world events through an economic lens. Articles apply ideas from economic theory to current issues, using concepts such as loss aversion from behavioural economics and Nash equilibrium from game theory to explain developments in markets, policy, and international relations. The Dubai Youth Economics Review remains entirely student-led and online, committed to connecting classroom economics with the real world.
Our Principles
What We Stand For
Data-Driven
Every claim is backed by numbers. We survey, collect, and analyse real data from our school community.
Student Voices
We amplify the perspectives that matter — from the student council to the person in the lunch queue.
Transparency
We ask the hard questions about where money goes and who makes the decisions that affect us all.
